Dear Families and Students,
I hope that your family is finding the summer to be a break from school that is relaxing and renewing. Summer is the perfect time to explore new interests and deepen learning. Whether it’s reading a great book, participating in the library reading program, practicing a musical instrument or sport, or exploring nature, there are countless ways to keep your mind active and curious. We encourage all students to take advantage of these opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills, as research shows that summer break can have a negative effect on learning if they aren’t actively engaged.
We are continuing to prepare for the 2024-2025 school year which begins on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. You will find a School Supplies List on the webpage which includes a summary of the dress code. We often get donations from community organizations so if your student does not have materials requested, we will provide these for them.
In addition, your student’s preliminary class schedule was mailed home and is availalbe on Skywrd, however it is subject to change. Updates to schedule will be communicated in August.
Below you will find a list of important dates in August that may help you prepare for back to school.
FMS Back to School Activities
August 8: Principal back in office- 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
August 26: Office Hours Begin- 8:00 am - 4:00 pm: (360) 374-6262 ext 500, 191 S Spartan Ave
August 26-27: WEB Leader Training- WEB Leaders will receive a reminder invite prior to this date
August 27: Family Back To School Night/School Information Packets- 5:00-6:30 pm
August 30: 5th Grade Orientation- Logistical details will be mailed in August
September 3: SCHOOL STARTS! at 8:15 for all FMS grade levels
