I-Ready Spring Testing: Please encourage your students to do their best on the I-Ready Diagnostic.  We use these test results to monitor student growth and to place students into classes such as advanced math and/or interventions.  Students will be testing in math and reading.  Results will be mailed home the last week in April. 

Mindset, Values and Purpose Youth Summit- Grades 8-11th: 8th grade students are invited to the annual youth prevention summit field trip on Friday, April 25 from 8:45-3:20.  Students will learn about healthy relationships, mental health, physical health and the Science of HOPE.  There will be snacks, lunch, games, prizes and grab bags in addition to cultural take-home activities.  Permission slips can be picked up in the office and  need to be turned in by Thursday, April 17- NO EXCEPTIONS.  Only 150 seats available, registration will close once we reach our limit.

Candygram Fundraiser: The 7th grade class will be running a Spring CandyGram Sale.  

  • This year we will be able to accept online orders and payment.  Go to this webpage to order online: https://wa-quillayutevalley-lite.intouchreceipting.com/SpringCandyGramFundraiser

  • $1.00 per CandyGram with a choice of Chocolate or Fruit-Flavored

  • You can send it with a specialized message for one or multiple students and/or staff.  All orders will be due by 3:30 on April 18th.  CandyGrams will be delivered the week of April 21.

Academic Support:  FMS offers a number of opportunities for students to get additional support with classwork within and outside of the school day.  

  • Daily: Each grade level offers academic support with a certificated teacher and a paraeducator during 1st period 8:15-8:59. 

  • Tuesdays: 3:30-4:30 pm in Ms. Streutker’s Classroom (Transportation provided by arrangement- Contact Kala Jackson at extension 256)

  • Wednesdays: 7:30-8:10 am in Ms. Hunley’s Classroom 

  • Wednesdays: 2:30-3:30 pm in the Paraeducator Support Room

  • Thursdays: 3:30-4:30 pm in Ms. Gingrich’s Room

Cell Phones: We continue to enforce our cell phone policy.  Cell phones need to be put away during class time.  Students should no longer be reminded about keeping out of sight during class time.  Students will receive a referral for cell phone violation. 

Chromebooks Charged: It is important that students come to school with charged Chromebooks.  This is especially essential as we approach both I-Ready and State Testing.  Students need to take these assessments on their Chromebooks and we do not want testing interrupted due to not having a charged device.  Please remind your student to charge their Chromebooks overnight.
