FES families- We are writing to provide you with an update on our ongoing efforts to ensure safe drinking water
in our schools. As you may recall, Washington state law (RCW 28A.210.410 and RCW 43.70.830)
requires all K-12 public schools built before 2016 to test drinking water outlets for lead. The
purpose of this testing is to identify outlets that may be potential sources of lead exposure so they
can be shut off or replaced to reduce exposure to lead from school drinking water.
Please read the attached letters from the district.
Sincerely,
Sarah Decker

Good afternoon, FES families,
This week, students completed their mid-point i-Ready testing, and many of our students also began WIDA testing. Teachers will be sending home current scores in the coming week. I’m excited to see the growth in students’ reading and math skills—it truly reflects the hard work of both students and teachers. We sincerely appreciate your continued support in helping academic growth happen.
Today, we also practiced safety with a fire drill. Students did a great job quickly following adult directions and exiting the building to their designated safe locations.
On Saturday, February 7, the PTO will be hosting a bake sale from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Forks Outfitters. Please stop by to support our students and enjoy some delicious treats!
Wednesday, February 11, will mark our 100th day of school—wow! It is also an early release day, with student dismissal at 2:15 p.m.
There will be no school on Friday, February 13, and school will also be closed on Monday, February 17, in honor of Presidents’ Day.
Wishing you a relaxing weekend,

Today, we celebrated students at our assembly who demonstrated perseverance. As we wrap up this round of winter testing, we are seeing strong evidence of how hard work and perseverance are paying off in student growth. i-Ready results will be sent home with families in the next couple of weeks.
As the weather continues to be cold and wet, please remember to dress your child for the climate of the day. If your child is missing coats, sweatshirts, hats, or gloves, we encourage you to check our lost and found.
Please remember that we have an early release on Wednesday, February 4.
Thank you for your continued partnership. Have a safe weekend, and stay dry!

FES families-
We had a great week of learning this week, and it was so nice to see the sun and hear the kids playing on the playground! It is COLD outside though! Please dress your child warmly and write their names on their clothing.
If you bring your child to school, you may have noticed that we have a new sign in the front parking lot that says no student pick up or drop off. You may still park your car and walk your child in or pick them up, but you may not use the front parking lot like the yellow zone.
Missoula Children’s Theater auditions will be on Monday, Jan. 19, at 12:00 in the High School Commons.
There is no school on Monday, January 19, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
We will have early release on Wednesday, Jan. 21. Students will be dismissed at 2:15.
Enjoy your three day weekend!

Good afternoon, FES families!
It was so good to see your students back at school this week, and I am proud of how they are settling back into the school routine!
A couple of reminders as we all settle back into school the school routine:
Call before 2:45 if you are needing to make different go home plans. This gives the office time to let teachers and students know.
Make sure your child’s name is written on jackets and coats. It helps us return them to their owners when they are left on the playground.
Good attendance matters. Every day at school impacts in your child’s academic growth.
Reading to or with your child for 20 minutes every day is one of the best ways you can help your child develop their reading skills.
Wednesday, Jan. 14, will be an early release day, with students dismissed at 2:15.
I would like to give a huge thank you to our PTO for making sure every Puddle Jumper has a cool new shirt! THANK YOU, PTO!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

Good morning, FES families!
As we all settle back into the school routine, here are a few items to note:
Today, Wednesday, Jan. 7, is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 2:15.
Here is a copy of the January lunch menu.
If you are dropping your child off and/or picking your child up, please remember that traffic safety laws still apply on our campus. You must maintain a safe speed, you may not park in the fire lane, you must be aware of pedestrians, and come to a complete stop at stop signs. Your children's safety is my number one priority. Thank you for doing your part to ensure safety before and after school.
Respectfully,

Good afternoon, FES families!

For student safety, it is important that you are following safety procedures in when dropping off and picking up. If you are dropping your student in the yellow zone, come to a complete stop before your child gets out and be mindful of other children. If you are coming into the front parking lot, park and walk your child to the sidewalk. The red painted curb is the fire lane and not to be used for dropping off. Thank you for ensuring student safety in the parking lot.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 17, is early release, and students will be dismissed at 2:15 pm.

Thursday evening, December 18, is our FES Winter Concert! Please have your students arrive at 6:15 pm. The concert will begin at 6:30. The PTO Winter Market will be open during this event from 5:45-6:15 pm.

Friday, December 19, is a pajama day at school! It is also our Puddle Jumper assembly. ECEAP-1st grade assembly begins at 2:20, and the 2nd-4th begins at 2:45.
